Our Story

"I didn't start this to build a business. I started it because I wanted to leave something real behind."

My name is Vera.

I have been making jewelry by hand for over 30 years. Not as a hobby. Not as a side project. As a calling — something I came back to again and again, no matter what else life brought.

I raised my daughters in a small house with a workbench in the corner of the kitchen. That workbench was always covered in silver, wire, tools, and half-finished pieces. My girls grew up watching me work. They thought nothing of it. To them, making things with your hands was just what their mother did.

When my eldest turned 30, I wanted to give her something that mattered. Not something bought. Something made. I engraved her name into a necklace — her full name, the one I gave her — and I put it in a small box with a note that said: You were always worth more than you knew.

She called me crying. She said it was the most beautiful thing she had ever owned.

Her friends started asking where she got it. Then their friends. Then strangers on the internet.

That is how Vera Maren began.

Why I make jewelry for women who buy it for themselves

Something I noticed over 30 years of making jewelry: women are almost always buying it for someone else. A daughter. A mother. A friend. A bride. Themselves — only on birthdays, only when given permission, only when someone else decided the occasion was worthy enough.

I got tired of that. I got tired of women waiting to be chosen. Waiting for someone else to decide they were worth a beautiful thing.

Every piece I make is designed for the woman who has finally decided it is her turn. Who doesn't need a birthday or an anniversary or a reason. Who understands that the most powerful thing she can do is look down at her own hand and see her own name — chosen by herself, for herself.

That is what Vera Maren stands for. Not jewelry as a gift someone gives you. Jewelry as a declaration you make for yourself.

The legacy piece

I am 60 years old. I think about legacy more than I used to. I think about what we leave behind — not money, not property — but the small physical things that carry our love forward after we are gone.

My mother left me a ring. It was simple. Worth almost nothing in dollars. But I have worn it every day for 22 years because when I look at it I see her hands, and I remember that she loved me before I knew what love was.

That is what I am trying to make. Not jewelry. The thing someone holds after you are gone and feels you in.

Every piece I engrave is built to last a lifetime. And then another one after that.

How every piece is made

  • Every piece is made by hand, one at a time. No factory. No assembly line.
  • Every name is engraved by hand — not printed, not lasered. Carved.
  • Every piece is made to order. Your piece does not exist until you order it.
  • Every piece ships with a lifetime craftsmanship guarantee. If it ever fails, I fix it. No questions.
  • Every piece comes with a 30-day return policy. If it is not right, we make it right.

Thank you for being here. It means more than you know.
